DOCUMENTO 5763 OFICIO DE PEDRO BRICEÑO MÉNDEZ PARA EL TE­NIENTE CORONEL JOSÉ GABRIEL LUGO, FECHADO EN SAN CAR­LOS EL 15 DE JUNIO DE 1821, POR EL CUAL LE PARTICIPA QUE EL LIBERTADOR CONFIRIÓ LA COMANDANCIA GENERAL DE OC­CIDENTE AL CORONEL JUSTO BRICEÑO Y LO HA NOMBRADO COMANDANTE MILITAR DEL DISTRITO DE SAN FELIPE.*

San Carlos, junio 15 de 1821.

Al Señor Teniente Coronel José Gabriel Lugo.

S.E. el Libertador Presidente ha tenido a bien conferir la Coman­dancia General del Occidente que ejerce V.S. al señor Coronel Justo Briceño. Entregúele V.S. el mando con las órdenes e instrucciones que haya recibido hasta ahora.

Al mismo tiempo se ha servido S.E. nombrar a V.S. Comandante Militar del Distrito de San Felipe a donde pasará a encargarse del mando inmediatamente que haya puesto en posesión al señor Coronel Briceño, a cuyas órdenes inmediatas queda V.S. sujeto en su nuevo destino.
